Finance Business Controller

Our small family-like team in Bratislava is looking for a qualified business controller and accountant, who will have all-round finance experience with responsibilities across different finance areas such controlling, FP&A and accounting. The ideal fit to the team should be naturally inquisitive and commercially astute with the drive to get out into the business and work with business partner to effectively make changes to benefit the business.

You will be reporting to the Finance Director and support CEO/COO, you will provide professional support by managing the financial reporting function and driving change, so as managing the small local team of two.

Accounting

• Manage and deliver month-end and smooth year-end accounting: ensure preparation of monthly journal entries, accuracy of balances and maintain appropriate monthly closing procedure
• Collaborate closely with the business and operations departments on financial matters
• Prepares reports and analysis, including performance dashboards and management report
• Sponsor good governance and ensure compliance with group policy and IFRS accounting standards.
• Keep abreast of and implement technical accounting changes
• Assess the financial processes in supporting financial data preparation
• Implement improvements, challenge processes
• Support the implementation of simplification and automation of reporting across the region in conjunction with the country controllers.
• Review of monthly accruals
• Supporting the YE statutory audit and various internal audits

Controlling & Financial Planning and Analysis

• Support finance director for monthly forecast preparation
• Understand what is happening in the company and proactively act by contributing to updated forecasts
• Support the implementation of simplification and automation of reporting
• Provide managerial support to a Cash collection and billing specialist.
• Work with IT to keep ERP functionalities up to date (D365), must be interested in the functioning of ERP.
