U. S. Steel will welcome a Senior DevOps Engineer in its ranks to design and support complex scalable Python-based ML and WEB applications that will improve process efficiencies and plant operations in line with the overarching strategic and tactical objectives of the company.
As a Senior DevOps Engineer in U. S. Steel, you will collaborate with data scientists, other software developers, project managers and other internal business partners on multiple projects to implement software solutions with measurable business value. The technology stack that we use is based on Python, Docker, JavaScript and SQL databases. Focus is on deployment and operation of reliable ML based WEB applications. Collaborate with developers to deploy and manage code changes, design and manage CI/CD pipelines.
Duties and responsibilities
• Deploy reliable WEB applications and maintain CI/CD infrastructure
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders across the organization to understand requirements and business process in order to convert them into solutions
• Support implementation of proof of concept, prototypes, and production-grade interactive WEB applications
• Trouble-shoot software issues and implement bug fixes

Requirements for the employee
Candidates with education suit the position
University education (Master's degree)
Personality requirements and skills
• Strong Linux operation skills and fluency in Shell scripting
• Expert in CI/CD pipelines (e. g. Azure DevOps or similar tool)
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm
NICE-TO-HAVE:
• Python programming, development and deployment of interactive WEB applications
• Developing automated tests

• Windows administrator
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Database design skills and SQL statements
Upper intermediate (B2) English
Ability to understand business processes
